About Spring Hacks (Edit: Applications to the hackathon have now closed)

Spring Hacks is a Greater Toronto Area-based hackathon targeted at high school students. University students will also be allowed to attend. Hackers of all skill levels are welcome as this is a beginner-friendly hackathon. The hackathon will be hosted on the 19-20 May 2023, from 6:00 pm EST on Friday to 6:00 pm EST on the following Saturday. There will be workshops, games, and prizes for all participants attending and the winners of our event. We hope to see you there.

What To Submit

Because we want to make our hackathon as beginner-friendly as possible, Spring Hacks will be an open-theme hackathon. Apart from a general submission, however, Spring Hacks will also have themes to submit under which may include best pitch, best aesthetic, environmental, educational, etc.

    What is the project's purpose and how well does it fulfill its intended purpose based on the pitch?
  • Pitch
    Is the pitch interesting and appealing? Does the pitch reflect and display the project accurately?
  • Practicality
    Does the project function and is it adaptable for future improvements? Is the project viable and what kind of problem is it trying to solve?
  • Design
    How does the project look? Is the project appealing? Does the project stand out? Is the project usable in terms of structure and UI?
  • Originality
    Is the project original and creative?
